6 Fashion Faux Pas you might be making as a Petite woman

If you are a short woman, you might be making these fashion faux pas. Check out the list of the 6 most common mistakes short girls tend to make.

You shop at the children’s department.

Totally do it for sportswear, especially if you are not the busty type. You can find really good deals and most of the time, the quality of children’s sportswear is as good as the adult version. It can also be a good idea for shoes, all the more if you wear a very small size.

However, we wouldn’t recommend that you do your shopping at the kids’ section. First of all, clothes are not adapted for women. There are no bust darts and no room for feminine curves. Secondly, the design, the details and the colors of the clothes can make you look younger which might not be what you want to aim for.

Finally, children’s clothes are generally less qualitative than women’s clothes. Children grow fast and manufacturers just know that the clothes are not supposed to be worn for a long period of time. Therefore, they tend to use lower quality fabrics.

You don’t have enough basics in your wardrobe.

Every morning, you are getting frustrated with your wardrobe because you feel like you have nothing to wear. You waste time, time that you can’t spend on something more meaningful to you, and you start your day annoyed.

You keep clothes that you don’t like

Have you ever purchased a piece of clothing and wondered why you bought it because it looks very so-so on you ?

Well, the thing is if you keep it, this piece of clothing will take some place in your closet. It will make you feel like you have a ton of useless stuff. And you might end up wearing it and just feel awful and ugly the whole day.

If there is a piece of clothing that you don’t like, either donate it or recycle it but don’t keep it.

You wear pieces of clothing that make you look shorter.

Some clothes can definitely overwhelm your silhouette if they are not designed for petite women. Oversized clothes often tend to be way too oversized for your frame. Very bulky clothes or clothes with big patterns can also make you look smaller than you actually are. Midi skirts that are not high waisted or capri can also make your leg look shorter.

You don’t have any goals in mind when dressing up in the morning.

If you dress with a specific objective in mind, it will be easier for you to assemble a good outfit. Even if you don’t feel like it, try to do it because it will lighten your mood and give you the kick you might need.

You don’t invest into quality.

Believe it or not, people do notice when someone is wearing quality clothes. Looking expensive is one of the things that impress people.

On top of that, purchasing quality clothes will actually make you save money and time in the long run.

If you are guilty of one of these fashion faux-pas, but you feel good with yourself and have no issue with it, then it’s totally alright. Trust your gut and your desires.

What matters is that you love yourself. Take care!
