The Petite Interview #1 : Audrey, A 5’1 Analytical Therapist

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOURSELF: WHO ARE YOU? WHERE DO YOU COME FROM? WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?

My name is Audrey, and I am currently living in Alsace. I worked as a lawyer for 10 years. But I didn’t really like this job. I did it mostly to please my parents. The truth is that I found it totally uninteresting! The study of the psyche, on the other hand, is a real passion for me. So, the day I decided to stop doing a job I didn’t like for my parents, I went into a reconversion. Today, I am training to become an analytical therapist. I love it and it passionates me.

WE ARE NOT REALLY FAMILIAR WITH ANALYTICAL THERAPY. CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHAT IT IS?

Analytical therapy is my own personal term. I use it to regroup all the treatments that are based on people’s reality, beliefs and perception (limiting or not). For example, Petite women who don’t really like their size will filter the reality in a way that they essentially retain the harmful elements relative to their heights (bad jokes, difficulties to catch anything in a department store, hems to do on clothes). Someone who just like me is happy with her size and does not even consider it as a negative element, will not notice the obstacles that other people would.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO WOMEN WHO HAVE A COMPLEX ABOUT THEIR SHORT HEIGHT?

I think it is necessary to first find out what the causes and beliefs behind this complex are. Does being short, in my mind, equals to not being competent or cool compared to others? If I were taller, would it change anything? Before we can act and move towards self-acceptance, it’s crucial to really understand where the problem comes from.

SO, YOUR SIZE, DO YOU ASSUME IT COMPLETELY?

Absolutely. My 5′ size has never bothered me (except when you need to take the subway, and you are right under the armpits of people!). On the contrary, it allows me to put high heels high, something I love!
I do not have a limiting belief in my height. So, people are even surprised when I tell them how tall I am!

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

I do not have a discreet style, so to speak. I am a fan of high heels, and I love vibrant colors. My favorite dress, for instance, is a bright yellow sheath dress with a V-neck and frills on the sleeves. I love beautiful dresses, glamorous, retro clothes, something between Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy.

WHAT IS A BEAUTIFUL GARMENT FOR YOU?

A beautiful garment is a garment that has a nice cut, that drapes you well and is made of quality materials!

WHAT ARE YOUR AMBITIONS, YOUR GOALS FOR 2019?

My mission, my desire, is to help people entirely live their individuality. For a long time, I have not been authorized to live mine. That’s why today, I really want to accompany people to understand that they don’t need to be anybody else than who they already are and help them find the purpose they want to give to their existence, their “why”. I want to blow up conformism, help people to be themselves, and make them feel good about themselves.
One day, I’d love to create therapy groups to talk about the guilt that surrounds bodies. I am still in training, but I hope to be able to launch my activity within 6 months!
